Soul Power
UR returns with another fusion of studio electronics
and funk instrumentation. A side, Ma Ya Ya, with its
electrified funky drummer beats, rubber bassline,
delayed guitar effects, "Ma YaYa" vocals and Zydeco
riffs make it an unusual case of quite straight
Detroit hi-tech funk. B-side, Soul Power is a tribute
to James Brown, with it's horns, vocals and gospel
solo. The song first broke on DJ Rolando's Aztec
Mystic mix in 1998. 6 years later, UR finally gives
it a release.
